Kita Familycare Sternengasse

Important information:

Familycare will discontinue its business activities. familea will continue to run the daycare centers and other services offered by Familycare Basel from November 1, 2024. This decision was made for long-term, economic reasons. 

With this step, we unfortunately have to close the daycare center on Sternengasse and Sternenmehr as of 30 November 2024, as the low occupancy rate does not allow for an economically sustainable operation. familea offers solutions for the employees and the children in its care.  

We are very pleased that familea, as a long-standing partner, is willing and able to take over the daycare centers as well as the other counseling and childcare services offered by Familycare Basel. This will ensure a seamless transition. The change means that the daycare centers and jobs are secure and the high quality of care in the daycare centers is guaranteed. Like Familycare, familea places great emphasis on high quality pedagogy that focuses on the individuality of your child.

Kita Familycare Sternengasse: The daycare center in the heart of Basel's city center.

Our Kita Familycare Sternengasse and the new Sternenmehr childcare service are nestled between the Bankverein and Aeschenplatz, in the heart of Basel yet in a quiet location. The premises in the Kirschgarten commercial building, which have been specially converted for childcare, are spacious, friendly and flooded with light. With their child-friendly and loving furnishings, they invite children to discover, play and move around. As part of a project for more exercise and healthy eating, Kita Familycare Sternengasse daycare center was awarded both the "Burzelbaum-Kita" and the "Fourchette verte - Ama terra" labels. Like all Familycare Basel daycare centers, the Sternengasse daycare center and its entire staff are committed to high-quality educational values and care for children according to recognized educational principles.

Familycare Basel also runs the new and flexibly bookable additional care service Sternenmehr at the same location, with opening hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Friday and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
